Rag Diary Week 10

Mon 20.07.2009

working hours : 1.500 p.m. – 5.00 a.m.

today they started a whole new system

no more briefing and debrief

everyone just followed his own pace

the official working time is now 1.00 pm to 4.00 am

the rest is up to you to decide

 

continued emulsion the sponges

pretty slack as usual

 

then received call from Create Talents

they scheduled me for an interview tomorrow

gosh i was so happy

 

while waiting for the paint to dry

got a short-term task

to seperate the items

out of this aromatic thing

coconut aroma, cool

but it smelled damn weird, seriously

 

 

then i started to paint those “fruity candies”

the two kids staying there

were playing with their cart

took photos for them

 

they were kinda curious

about my choco pies

kept staring and smiling outside

 

talked to Geok Han personally

she was not staying back too

 

at night continued on

then went for a nap

12 a.m

went for house shifting

i was supposed to keep my room

till 2nd Aug

and move to my permanent room

but the problem here is i don’t have a permanent room

so it was decided

i will move to recrea room instead

 

continued baking my choco pie at night

 

12am just nap

till 2am only i started to move

everything went on well

i am now officially a camper

outdoor dry run today

and with a few dancers

taking photos with the float

something like media press con i think

 

after lunch

continued to practice

i almost dozed off

actually i felt quite useless in the basket

 

then continued with my choc pies

till Brian came

went over to talk to him

helped him

and his bunch of friends were fun too

 

but after dinner

totally different me

very very sleepy

in the middle

little Joshua and Lucas

came over to visit me

 

slept at the hide-out

then later on the working desk

till chair and vice chair talked to me

said i must cut down the time

for my personal activities

why bother…

 

discovered the best way to

cut the tin cans pieces

hurray

 

finished earlier today

tomorrow another revolution

of working hour i guess

today 12.30 pm

a damn serious meeting

everyone supposed to come up

with their own deadline

they won’t rush on us anymore

set your own target

and hit it

 

rushed for interview

almost 2 already

phoned up to postpone it to 3 pm

 

continued with drawing tin cans

gonna do this whole day

Leonard came finally

i miss those good old days

 

after dinner lots of freshie helping

in opening tin cans

but drawing template is slow

after Leonard left

felt a bit tired

went for nap

damn pissed off

when woke up for drum carrying rehearsal

kicked away my cardboard blanket

 

Wei Jie came

felt better after talking to them

my 3rd can of coke

today 3 cokes, 2 mocha

no wonder i got sore throat

damn trash my tummy

 

finally got gang

my daddy, Seow Chuen, the PRC A blocker

sang songs together

then played a singing game with my mummy too

 

i really damn slack

ate afternoon tea with

Andrew, Xiao Dan, Geok Han, Du Yao

 

 

dinner time went up to sleep at SC's room

woke up went down straight

ate Oreo, Twisties

lips got infection again

 

got kao pe by li ting

i always go nap

and don’t communicate enough

feel very sad i have lost a friend

plus got negative respond

when talking to Bee Ling

so sad that i smsed Leonard

how i wish he is here

 

ate 4 sandwiches

very very hungry

 

napped

got disturbed by yong yeik

said must use fire extinguisher

Lena Lee and Wan Yong Yeik are

officially my enemies

 

went back to table

continued sleep lo

till 5 sumtin

really sian

plus stressed up

need to finish report leh

today was first day of FWOC

drawing some patterns

then only realized

actually that one drew according to ridges

there is no need to draw

 

then cut the lotus petals

all the way till dinner time

joined the team back for dinner

OP comm intro nite

wow, i shone among the raggers

my ragger sneaker + roxy skinny

 

then freshies came down for mass production

hang out with some E blockers

for the firs time in my life

 

ate lots of supper

breads kuih chicken curry

plus 3 bottles of coke zero today

   

wei li gave a briefing

on how to conduct the rag rush

KO all the way till 6

working hours : 2.00 p.m. – 7.15 a.m.

came down

ate breakfast first

then lunch after 4

 

 

did lots of templates

to prepare for rag rush at night

 

did something quite pro

this one 8 sets

thanks to Zhang Liang who helped me

all the way

 

finally got the sense of a pro ragger

and can be admired by those frehies

running around for games out there

 

before dinner got scolded for thing

i didn’t have a single idea about

“what do you mean you don’t know

you are supposed to know everything about props”

 

i know i know

everyone just thanks that i am a worm

sitting one corner, relaxed

don’t do serious stuffs

but i was..

 

after dinner it was even worst

a senior came

gave him something to do

then i went back to continue my work

went over to Lukas’s computer

to sign out my MSN

trying to open a radio station

 

then the vice-chair came

“do you think what you are doing is right

what would the helper think of us

as i see, you are not signing off”

damn pissed

fuck…

friend is an artificial term

 

did this

cross shaped, 4 designs

practically everyone who wasn’t in rag area

was doing this too

but i was the one creating the template

haha that made all the differences

lots of them went up for block supper

then rag rush time

Leonard and his a-blocker gang came for rag rush

they were damn noisy

hanged out with Jonathan, the E-block guy

 

supper, fried kuehteoh, rice

plus some cake

i am putting on weight now

felt full all the way till next morning

napped all the way till 6

continued cutting my cross shaped papers

all the way till dinner

cleared up the space

for rag preview

 

my afternoon tea

 

after dinner did some CD cutting

Leonard came

then only discovered i couldn’t trace properly

so the job on hold

Wu Fan was taking over

let her do the thinking

 

i conducted rag rush instead

then traced coke tin cans

all the way, while half awake till 7

 

supper is my fav Meiji

working hours : 2.00 p.m. – 7.45 a.m.

continued with drawing circles

very very relaxing

 

tried to avoid the Meiji Choc

just ate after i finished one sheet of paper

as a reward

i seriously afraid i will grow fat

plus there was bubble tea treat

 

at night there was a dry run of mechanism

the dinner break was 25 mins only

my position was in the picnic basket

supposed to lift up the drum

during the finale

so quite a huge responsiblity

 

the inner lid looks very nice

 

dance props

they will be hidden in the basket too

napped quite a bit

and street vagrant nap too

did the stupid raspberries

the shape was just ain’t nice 

 

3 packs of biscuits at night

 

super long day

chatted with Bee Ling and Li Ting

then time passed faster

got praised during debrief

for the first time in rag

said my attitude improved over the week

of course, all my work are of precision

working hours : 2.10 p.m. – 6.30 a.m.

today the freshies, Brian, Jocelyn etc

were here again

continued with my circles

40 more to go

 

then continued with cutting triangles with them

1120 triangles into 4 yellowish colours

 

junk food during the afternoon

1. a glass of F&N grape, this is so Hari Raya
2. some healthy cookies, tasted weird
3. finale, a donut, for D-blockers

 

continued drawing 12 circles

bacause i ran out of paper just now

400 circles, Done.

 

then cut the slot in gap for all these

and got them ready for spray-painting

 

30 PRC students were given introduction to Rag

with the hope that they will come down and help

only two actually came down to help

stayed till after mid-night

 

chilled out

 

disaster struck when i took the 3rd type of drink

this is supposed to be cladding material

we needed 500 cans

so everyone just drink up

drank one while i was pasting the plastic

and my tummy started to hurt

when i went for nap

it’s like a knife, slicing the flesh

omg, it’s killing me

 

then tried to cure it with

 

followed by

 

another reason why i ate so much

to cure the sensation in my tummy

had got something to do with my job

can’t help but fell for my

mouth itchiness

 

these wrappers were sponsored

so there was no need for us

to eat choc like mad

what a waste

1st job

put up deco for my station

 

today continued with choc

the 2nd design

because we don’t have enough

wrappers of the same flavour

another 100 over to go

 

did for quite long

and it was driving me hungry

finished my own supply of food

went for biscuits provided by rag

then another D-blocker treat

a Belgian choc ball

 

then decided to take up the challenge

another can of acidic Coffee

but today i was doing fine

probably  because i had eaten all the biscuits

 

ribbons from the choc box

 

asked Tien to buy the Tag Heuer watch for Yuling

then Yuling will fall for him

this is the first time i had a proper conversation with him

then moved over to sit with him

 

suddenly got the crazy idea that

instead of buying the expensive watch

he can build a clock for his own house

just like the donut clock

but with heart shape

our whole float can be converted into a house actually

then continued to tell him about my craze,

passion, extreme behaviours

surprisingly, he had been to India before too

 

at night supposed to came out with

misc shapes down here

this is the 1st time i took my work so seriously

as in i jotted down a piece of

note + drawing

 

11pm to 11.40 napped behind the waffle gate

it was quite cold

so i used another piece of cardboard

as the blanket

was informed later that

my photo was taken

not by others

but our in-house IT cum photography specialist

gosh……

 

then 11.40pm went back to my room

thought i want to chill out awhile

till 12 am

slept all the way till

 

when i woke up

my Seiko 5 was showing 5.40 a.m

can’t believe it

maybe it had stopped again

 

can’t find my matric card

had the wild idea that

they came and called me

i can’t wake up

so they took it away

 

went down quietly

with the preparation

to be fired

but surprisingly

everything was perfectly normal

nobody had notice my long absence

continued work

and after awhile

it’s the time to call it a day

 

some stayed back

including my buddies, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew

i decided to stay back too

to make up for the 7 hrs long break i took

brought my Stan down and played song

 

went on with my drawing

me and Lena were the last two to leave after 10 am

 

stan has found a new casing

 

this is so far the most adventurous day in rag

• super long break
• nobody discover it
• stay up till 10 am
• play my own song loud in the dining hall

cover shoes day again

today continued with the lots lots pattern

hanged out with PRC freshies

 

snack was 4 pcs of self-packed crackers

then still super hungry

6 something

went up

2 pcs of Oreo,

2 pcs of sugar coated one

1 pc of bread

 

but dinner still ate super a lot

noodle

milk

orange

apple

 

at night healthier choices

marshmallow (a lot)

blueberries

2 bowls of green bean, by FWOCer, so thick

 

the dancing props by

costume stylists were done

 

the inner wall of the well

which everyone praised

today did the same thing as yesterday

i started to like this colour

Fuschia

because my mango bag is exactly the same color

 

my lunch / tea

 

then went on to cut rectangles for Hitesh

pretty bosong

went he came QC

said what 1 mm difference

go to hell

if not for me

who will cut the 180 pieces rectangles for him

 

the snack i miss a lot, T&J plus a shrunk Bika

 

all the way till 1am

after supper at 2 am

went nap

went my room continued

another 40 mins

 

4 am started again

cutting egg tray

but just kept falling asleep

who cares

i am just helping Andrew out

cutting out lots of yellow triangles

Andrew was eating Pringles, Cheesy Cheese

and the triangles and the chips 

actually looked alike

 

i was finally tempted

ate around 10 i think

i calculated the serving size

it’s around 5cm per day

but he was finishing the whole can

 

my ultimate snack was the healthy

chinese barley i cooked

 

chilled out with Andrew a lot

wondered if his gf will get jealous

now i officially call him my daddy

 

Li TIng said wanna eat with me

brought my mee sua down

but she was having food feast with all star players

at A block

i felt stupid

stopped by, ate my stuffs

and left while people were still cooking

their sumptuous meal

at first was asked

how come i was there

and were belittled

by the lousy meal of mine

go to hell

at night did misc stuffs

cutting triangles

folding papers

 

after nap assigned to draw some funny shapes

ended up the whole piece was wrong

so was the other piece

drawn by the guy

who gave me the instruction

forget bout it

in the afternoon just cut some cardboard

that stupid chief assistant engineer

he asked me to just continue drawing

what ever was there

 

later I cut away half of the board

to make my work easier

showed it to him

and he said the pattern was all wrong

he was working on a whole new piece

can’t he discover it in the first place

since he knew he got the wrong pattern

can’t he just kindly inform me earlier

nevermind, it’s ok

 

just took my own sweet time

some senior raggers were here

they must wonder

where the hack

they got this kind of labour from

 

came back after eleven

fun sponge cutting

although i just had steamboat

 

the lengzai helper

who came down for few days

 

life is just colourful
