Rag Diary Week 8

working hours : 2.30 p.m. – 6.00 a.m.

today quite slack actually

did aquarium pipes

finished before dinner

 

then helped Andrew with

his papaya pieces

fell asleep

then Leonard and CS

came and joined us

 

felt very dizzy

eyes like exposed to too much of light

then went up nap again

although i said i not gonna sleep again

 

came down napped again

three chairs in a row

here’s my bed

but at the end of the day

i got complaint

 

got idiot saw me sleeping

then asked the management people

how come raggers so slack

what the hell

try to come down

and stay for the whole day

working hours : 2.30 p.m. – 6.25 a.m.

today did 3 tasks

in the afternoon did together with

freshie helpers

so i wasn’t that bored

 

around 6 feeling super cold

first-aid medicine

 

then at night came down late 30 mins

napped downstairs another 45 mins

till the rag dancers came to look at the statics

very much bored at night

and very very sleepy

 

supper time went back to nap awhile again

got reprimanded for the naps

go to hell

if i don’t sleep

i can’t work

they were staying back to work

so that can hit target

just go hit whatever target you all have

 

have applied for leave

to go for NOC gathering

it was approved

with condition that i hit my targets

for the coming few days

as expected…

 

i really felt stressed up

not because i want to win rag or something

but rag is taking a toll on my personal life

my sleeping hour,

my casual activities,

my personal space,

my privacy,

my everything..

today continued with what i have been doing

quite easy actually

i got the feeling that

now they only assign easy job

to retarded, demotivated worker

like me

and i got help from rag helpers

 

supposed to start work at 8.20 p.m

overslept till 9.15

my supervisor came knock

said, “you’re late, time to work”

what the hell,

i had never had anyone to wake me up

for work in my life

 

when people were calling for supper

it’s time for me to nap again

around 45 mins i guess

 

then did something fun

drawing triangle

2000 of them

discovered new way of drawing

more accurate

less measurement

 

during debrief

the people were asking us

to put in more effort

saying some people were not

pushing hard enough

 

what’s the point of working

from 2.30 pm to 10 a.m.

and come to work

dropped death

it’s a vicious cycle

did the pipe again in the aftnoon

after i finished around 50

discovered we still need 20 more sets

so 100 more to go

but sorry darling

so happy to go out

didn’t feel like coming back

 

continued with this thing

the cutting of squares

but this time a bit different

the dimension is 8.2

instead of 8.5

my supervisor was miserably

calculating which dimension is the right one

and i had to do a few to compare

i thought this is supposed to be

the job scope of the designers

 

i asked her why she was doing this

she said designers are busy

and asked her to do the calculation

then i said, what if it’s wrong

she said, then redo

wth…

 

did the squares whole night

somehow felt itchiness

and warm + coldness

 

vicechair stopped by

asked me what to help

i asked her to help me calculate

how many we got now

she qc the thing

obviously

some the error was glaring

given i was half-asleep

she reminded me

 

the climax of the story came

when she took the thing

and qc it during her all stars meeting

omg

so basically my work

was being inspected by all the top people

5 or 6 of them

 

my heart was thumping

luckily nothing happened

 

while it was 6.50 am

whole team was rushing to do this

spray painting 600 of this

the other side have to be painted

 

what’s the point

this design is already so nice and cute

if you want to spray paint

might as well just buy plain white one

or coloured one

 

this is the design of the squares i been cutting

the 2k mini triangles

then now got another 80 set of smaller dimension one,

this is gonna take ages to finsh

afternoon did folding of origami

it was quite fun actually

some paper craft finally

 

 

CS and Leonard came

not so bored then

but they kept mentioning the word, “steamboat”

so loud

i afraid the people will actually find out

yesterday i wasn’t going for NOC reunion dinner at all

it’s steamboat with NOC people

 

told CS in the morning

i got scandal with a guy during India trip

he kept talking about it

saying i got scandal with a guy in rag

and it was Andrew

won’t they stop talking cork

 

at night was late for 30 mins

the chair called me

continued cutting what ever was

left over by CS and Leonard

cutting.. cutting.. and more cutting

 

Siao Chuan and Sushi came help

talked to her quite a bit

till she returned to her own work

 

supper time

today there was karaoke session

went back to my room to nap

who cares

 

then aft one hour, 1.30 a.m

Lena came and wake me up

got back to work

 

after i got back

still sitting all alone

while the other tables

got 5 or more Malaysian at every point of time

happily chatting away

 

saw quite a few of lovely Pepsi Light cans

asked the Viet guy, Tien about it

he said they found it while moving something

at the MPSH

so just drank them

 

told him that i got bored by 4-5 bottles

of plain water

so if got Pepsi Light i won’t mind

he walked over to the Msian table

borrowed 80 cents

and got me a Pepsi

 

Omg, how can he did this

while he was having an affair elsewhere

in fact i am paparazzi-ing his trail closely

passed the drink to Andrew instead

today drew lots triangles

but my mood was ok

because they were playing Linkin Park

then i played my own Nicky Lee too

 

evening after dinner continued the same thing

helped Andrew with his lollipop

then went to sleep at my corner

laying a cardboard as the bed

 

woke up, damn blur

paper folding

YuLing was cladding so fast that

before i finished

she was already here

requesting for more

 

 

the gang has gone crazy

over all the crazy songs

including CNY songs

but i didn’t have the energy to

do anything like this

 

very excited when it was daylight

because this is a Sunday

 

stupid…

to flattening this thing

they used the whole stack of newspapers etc

this gonna take ages

and the thing was dirty like hell

drawing lots of circle again

had discovered a new way to draw

nice and accurate

then continued on with the silver lining

i cut few days ago

 

they were supposed to be

forming some stupid patterns

 

at night, more circles to cut

400 of 8cm circles

 

one level up

in eating snack

almost one whole pack of this

plus a pack of Iko

one reason why i ate so much

was because my lips were swelling

due to the black pepper

in the Indian rice yesterday

 

finally i got to talk to Bee Ling

about fast food in India

and my snack addiction

plus she actually laughed to my joke

when i told everyone

how i hate David + Jolin’s song

 

during supper break

went up my room

CS came

ransacked my room

 

suddenly thrown to do

something so called urgent

cutting ice-cream stick

 

i don’t mind

but while i was working like a dog

on something urgent

can’t help seeing the other table

people happily talking cork away

on love topic

 

when continued work

dozed off again

the chair said i slept for 1 hr

i don’t know

and i don’t care

Rag Diary Week 7

Thu 02.07.2009

working hours : 3.00 p.m. – 4.00 a.m.

returned to rag after 2 weeks of break

CS was not around

then Leonard went away for

quite awhile

then CS called me

he had officially quitted rag

wth,

he got kicked out actually

 

then Leonard told me

he was going to quit too

after he talked to those people

we communicated via sms

though we were less than 50m away

because i can feel something is not right

 

they came and talked to me

during dinner break

asked me to work harder

since the team is really short of manpower now

gosh, i was really sad

 

did my work quietly

took down my lunch box

to make myself happier at work

make believe i was actually having a picnic party

called a pretender, 做作

 

around 11am

couldn’t take it anymore

went up for a nap

bacause i have been staying up

since 4am to pack my stuffs

and the driver had been talking

non-stop all the 3 hours journey

 

Li Ting and Yong Yeik came knocked

around 12.45 am

continued back to sleep till 2,45 am

i didn’t feel guilty at all

 

resumed working

with my Smark on

staying away from the maddening crowd

i want my friends back here

to work together

working hours : 1.15 p.m. – 5.45 a.m.

today whole day folding cans

very very sleepy

fell asleep on the rag table

really missed my friends

 

at night continued on

lots of people came and did rag rush

because the hall was having Senior Camp

 

around 11

the sleepy spell was here again

went back to sleep

till 11.45

Li Ting came and woke me up

 

finish can folding

proceeded to something stupid

clearing off thick enamel color

off some pipe thingy

luckily later Song Han said

it’s too tedious

just don’t waste anymore time on it

 

then did diamond drawing

it’s similar to the hexagon i did

something i enjoyed doing

Andrew came and helped

we talked in a fun manner, like friend

in the first time in history

 

he helped me to draw some

but the measurement was all off

but i did appreciate his effort

this is the first time i really get to talk

for the whole day

 

Li Ting talked to me

asked me why i so shag

i told her frankly

because i longer have any friends around

i was just feeling lonely

today drawing diamond

3 sizes in total

Leonard came around 3pm

then time flied by easier then

 

continued on and on

nothing adventerous

 

dinner break till 8.10 pm

but i napped till 8.45

when i opened the door

saw the rag chair

about to knock

oops, so sorry

 

today they prepared quite a lot of tasks

for helpers to do rag rush

but nobody came

 

i started to feel hungry around midnight

didn’t eat anything since

the 2 pieces of butterscotch bread at 5pm

 

here was my dinner

 

then supper was waffles around 2am

i did heart shape choc syrup

ate two

one was dedicated to

one of the scandalous couples

 

after supper i was totally knocked off

napped on the table for twice

my hands were damn pain

after 4pm

only i was back to sober state again

 

they were having Macs as breakfast

crazy, 6am

by the way

i had Macs twice already this week

 

lots of rashed started to pop up on my back

i am not too sure it’s the

post-india symptom

or because i been staying up too late

played a new game with Andrew

till 9pm,

i took a long break

all the way till 12.45 am

i really felt like quitting rag

when 2 persons entered my room

telling me that

i took a too long break

i deserved a right to sleep right

i was too tired

because yesterday night i didn’t sleep at all

 

continued on and on

3 am CS came back

although he helped awhile only

but did appreciate it

the management people

always threw suspicous glances

towards us

day 19 08.06.2009

working hours - 9.30 a.m. – 3.15 a.m.

continued on the waffles squares

i did something wrong last Saturday

thank god Leonard is willing to

repair it for me

 

 

they kept telling me ghost stories

how my uncle going to haunt me

because i choose my friend

and sacrifice to attend his funeral

 

afternoon move on to do the peg

it’s not as boring,

didn’t require so much of accurate alignment

but Leonard kept jeering me

for getting the pattern wrong

 

went for a break in recreation room

got nice tambun biscuits from Melaka

but how am i supposed to buy it

sial, i take bus

unlike Yu Ling

and i got tonnes of things to take

 

at night continued on with the waffle

then get new instruction

regarding the alignment

luckily it’s just a minor change

otherwise Leonard will go mad

 

went back to do our squares

both of us think that purple sucks

 

i discovered something

actually it’s not that we are slack

after twelve

me and Leonard were too tired to talk

quietly doing our work

while the other girls

sat down and slacked

i think the vice chair

wasn’t too happy bout it

that’s our colleague

continued on with the squares

nothing much

a bit quiet

then suddenly assigned me and Leonard to

imagine i have to beg somebody

so that i can have a weekend at home

my uncle suddenly passed away

i miss my family like hell

so i bursted into tears

i was all alone

i felt so scared

he over-slept for 15 mins, sial

 

continued with cutting the plastic

Florencia was kind enough to take

all the spray-painting job

me and Leonard don’t like spray-painting at all

because of our sensitive noses, perhaps

 

really sleepy

almost dozed off

but i was doing fine i think

it’s all because of the songs

i never hear one favourite song

for the whole night

 

Chief engineer asked us material engineer

to go talk to the designer

about the statics we gonna be in charge of

i went to Ruth and Teguh

then they were debating how to write the thing

go to hell

make us look like a fool

i just walked away to do my own stuff

they said they gonna push harder tomorrow

briefing then right away to lunch

i think this is their way to steal time

very shiok day

got back late

need to redo my 80 squares

because i messed up the spray paint

but luckily

so i won’t have to do spray painting again

i don’t know why they wanna push me

so hard to do spray painting

i damn pissed off

they said i spoilt everything here

but i think some are fine

 

then continued doing the square frames

with 4 pieces

working with SongHan

 

then helped Leonard out with

his strawberries

they are giving pressure that

he must finish by tonight

so we worked all the way

till the rest of the area

is done with housekeeping

 

then debrief we got fired again

said that people who are doing different things

shouldn’t be sitting at the same table

so obviously it’s us

who are sharing mp3 earphone

and can’t bring heavy food in to eat

because it takes too long

it’s Leonard who ate rice here

 

i hate rag

plus my Indian trip friends

kept pscychoing me to go Nepal

and join them in water rafting

and sightseeing at Everest

 

i want to go home

i want to go shopping

i want to see my friends

i want to go India

most importantly

i want to take a break off here

today did the squares shape again

for the whole day been doing the same thing

i was frustrated at first

because i need to produce

exactly 69

this job is very tedious

lots of steps involved

 

and today i was sick

i think it because of lack of sleep

and the heat from going out during noon

drank lots of water

vitamin c

went back to nap awhile

plus steal another 40 mins during dinner break

finally something saved me

the yang sheng xu

i went and took around 2 am

soak it in hot water and drink

it’s helpful for reducing body heat

otherwise i won’t be able to

stay up till 5am

 

till 12 am

only managed to hit 33

 

found a new home for my pda

it’s i don’t know noodle or what

plus fishball and sausage

i passed mine to Andrew

the bowls are all labeled with name

too bad mine is yellow colour

felt very very glad that

i am flying off

Rag Diary Week 3

day 13 01.06.2009

working hours - 9.30 a.m. – 3.15 a.m.

did slacker’s work

cut out 11.5 x 11.5 cardboards

50 pieces

it’s easy with the paper cutter

 

then aftnoon did spray paint

it’s not difficult

but it requires certain amount of skills

competed with Leonard

obviously i am the loser

 

i got shot by Andrew again

he was highly concerned

about my incompetency

because i been holding the paint too high

the paint wouldn’t be absorbed

he said all the paint got into his lung

gosh, i have to avoid contact with him

metallic gold pieces

 

Bee Ling is into welding now

with the garang guy, Andrew

omg, she is amazing

joked that tomorrow i want to

swap to welding department

die die must learn welding

 

continued to mass produce at night

then helped to paint the waffle gate

it was so dirty

my ipanema got contaminated

 

during debrief

a few person were praised

including our slacker league, Chung Siang

it was told that next time spray painting

should be done by 1 person only

shit.. obviously it’s towards me & Leonard

 

since last week

i have created a work station for myself

as seat while i sat on the floor

or as mat while i doing cutting

or something on the table

 

it’s still a bit dull

i gonna spray paint it later ya

there is something fanciful

about my workstation

but they are still skinning the top structure

it’s gonna be a delicious looking pudding

discovered a better way of cutting

tried to help Leonard with better method

but i suck

 

then aftnoon continued with it

there was this video shooting

luckily i only got 2 3 secs scenes only

and i just have to hold a broom

night helped Leonard with his part

but the previous few i made

some were not fitted nicely

had to be disposed

and also later i lost the template

so the shape isn’t very good

till the very end

only i found the template

and produced perfect piece

i did 600 + i think

 

briefing was damn long

have to redo the cups

whatever…

Jeffrey asked me whether i am listening

because i seemed like dozing off

yup.. i hate long briefing

very very comfortable

because it was a warm morning

after a night of heavy rain

proceed to another hexagon shape, 100 pieces

this is less work to do

but requires some skill to draw out the hexagons

 

distressing morning

Chung Siang is quitting rag

so sudden

he said they didn’t even try to

ask him to stay back

but he just want to apply for two days leave off

before he is going for reservice

and more importantly

to celebrate his birthday

it is disastrous

 

continued on with work

got ice-cream treat in the aftnoon

but it’s refreshing for a whole day of work

plus an apple while reading Seventeen

 

no Khaili’s song heard

began to get emo

switched to English station

aft Gary’s song was played

 

at night the productivity was very low

threw away lots of erratic pieces

ate another apple, 3 in total

candies 4 in total

getting addictive to this type of candy

 

then can concentrate better

and finally there’s 紅豆

Chung Siang came back, a little visit i guess

he was happier

even demo his bottle juggling

 

of course after QC

there were some rejected pieces

this is one of them

i don’’t really see the reason

anyway i am okay with it

since now i can produce

faster, better hexagon

the work is perfect

 

and can you imagine

all these are done by three persons only

Chung Siang quitted

so left Andrew and Bee Ling

maybe because i didn’t on the Jan Lamb Show

now we got a new rule for channel selection

we switch from mandarin to english channel

aftnoon Chung Siang was back, he helped

was being bought up

damn long briefing again

thank god in air-con recrea room

he needs to go back and pack his stuff

finally they compromised

after talking to so many people

he got half day leave

instead of two

then one day after reservice

it’s just a two days leave issue

 

today i was very happy

doing work with my fellow slackers

continued with the tin cans

Chung Siang cutting tin cans too

and Leonard cutting lunch box

 

continued on with cutting stuffs

till dinner

skipped dinner

napped, late by 30 mins

too sleepy already

Chung Siang was asking me

“why you cried?”

 

continued to have fun

all the way till 3 a.m.

“what’s your problem, you not happy with me?”
